Four basic principles

1. Contrast(对比)，增加视觉冲击，吸引
2. Repetition(重复) Repeat visual elements of the design throughout the piece.（让设计中的视觉要素在整个作品中重复出现）。条理清晰，统一性
3. Alignment(对齐)
4. Proximity(亲密性) visual unit(视觉单元)

1. 能够准确陈述问题是何等重要，因为明确这些原则是掌握它们的关键。

   realize the importance of being able to name things,since naming these principles is the key to having power of them

2. 如果我见过，肯定应该有印象，可我以前从来没有见过

   I would know if I saw that tree,and I’ve never seen one before.

3. 一旦能够说出什么东西的名字，就会很容易注意到它。你就会掌握它，拥有它，让它受你所控。

   Once you can name something,you’re conscious of it.You have power over it.You own it.You’re in control.

4. 认识到自已没有运用到这些原则

   Recognize when you’re not using them.

5. 不过要记住，它们实际上是相互关联的

   keep in mind they are really interconnected.

6. 对比的基本思想是，要避免页面上的元素太过相似

   The idea behind contrast is to avoid elements on the page that are merely similar

7. 要让页面引人注目，对比通常是最重要的一个因素

   Contrast is often the most important visual attraction on a page.

8. 这样一来，既能增加条理性，还可以加强统一性

   This develops the organization and strengthens the unity.

9. 任何东西都不能在页面上随意安放。每个元素都应当与页面上的另一个元素有某种视觉联系。这样能建立一种清晰、精巧而且清爽的外观。

   Nothing should be placed on the page arbitrarily.Every element should have some visual connection with another element on the page.This creates a clean,sophisticated,fresh look.

10. 彼此相关的项应当靠近，归组在一起

    Items relating to each other should be grouped close together.

11. 合适的、便于记忆的缩写词

    appropriate and memorable acronym
